Rumors have been spreading like wildfire throughout the Internet that A-list actor Leonardo DiCaprio has been romancing the possibility of a role in Star Wars: Episode VII.

Over the last couple months, most of the chatter has revolved around the likely returns of Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), and Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker). However, other notable actors such as Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Florence Welch have been spoken about as well.

Nonetheless, a source of Latino Review recently acknowledged that DiCaprio's had met with the Star Wars brass.

"I was also told that a MAJOR film star went in for a meeting. That star was Leo DiCaprio. And now I'm told he's out. Leonardo DiCaprio was up for a role in Star Wars but passed. He passed because he wants to do a project that is being developed and that project is Robotech," stated the source.

Over the past few months, most of the rumors have been regarding the possible return of legendary actor Harrison Ford (Han Solo), but he continues to dodge the million-dollar question.

While at the 2013 Comic-Con in San Diego, Ford spoke to MTV, but his words did little to add any clarity for the diehard fans.

"I'm not prepared at this time to have an in-depth conversation about - what did you call it again? - 'Star Wars.' I can't talk about it," Ford said.

The Star Wars: Episode VII storyline will occur around the time period after the events of Return of the Jedi. The film is scheduled to launch on July 15, 2015. A fan-made trailer of the future flick can be viewed below.
