Miley Cyrus We Can't Stop Vevo Video, Marc Jacobs T-Shirt in High Demand: Video Breaks Record, T-Shirt Sold Out
Miley Cyrus' latest single We Can't Stop now holds the record as the fastest video on Vevo to reach 100 million views and her Marc Jacobs t-shirt sold out in one day.
The Twitter account for the music video website posted a message on Friday, congratulating the pop singer for her achievement.
"Congrats to @MileyCyrus & the Smilers! #WeCantStop is the fastest vid to #VEVOCertified w/ 100M views in 37 days! https://vevo.ly/KSDIg," the tweet read.
Cyrus also took to her Twitter page to share the good news with her fans and announced the release of a second version of the We Can't Stop music video.
"Holding a new record! 100 million views! Directors cut coming Monday," she tweeted on Saturday.
Cyrus also announced on the social media site that her much-talked-about Marc Jacobs t-shirt, which features a nude Cyrus on it, sold out jut one day after it was released on Friday. The slogan "Protect the Skin You're In," is featured on the t-shirt and it costs $35. The sales benefit the NYU Cancer Institute and NYU Langone Medical Center. The demand for the shirt was apparently so overwhelming that the website offering it crashed.
"So in a day y'all crashed the site & bought up ALL the tees! I can't quit smiling! Y'all made a difference in so many lives! So grateful," Cyrus tweeted on Saturday.
In part, the success of the t-shirt can be credited to the free promotion the product received from Cyrus' unlikely friend, rapper French Montana.
"Ts are available at 9 Marc Jacobs boutiques including SanFran, LA, Chicago, New York, Boston, &... https://instagram.com/p/c," Montana tweeted on Friday.
The rapper told MTV Hive back in April that he formed a bond with Cyrus when they at a party.
"That's my dog. That's my peoples. We became friends at the Clive Davis Grammy party," Montana said. "I was sitting there with Puff. She was sitting there with Wiz [Khalifa]. She just kept looking at me laughing, I kept on looking at her laughing. I said, "What you laughing at?" She said, "I know you high like me." After that, we became mad cool. I went over to the studio, just kicking it."
