It's always fun when a star who isn't so active on social media makes a return to any platform - especially a celebrity as renound and adored as Tom Hiddleston.

Hiddleston has had many excellent roles over the years, from Shakespearean dramas to dark Guillermo Del Toro romances to, of course, his famous role as Loki in Disney's MCU. Along the way, of course, he's gained many ardent fans and admirers - particularly among women. Hiddleston has it going on - so when he reemerged on Twitter after not tweeting since 2020, it obviously caused his name to start trending immediately.

The last time Hiddleston used the platform was on July 1, 2020, where he #passedthemic to the UN Executive Secretary, Dr. Vera Songwe, to discuss the Covid-19 pandemic on a global scale.

After that, his Twitter was radio silence - until earlier today, that is. To be clear: No, Hiddleston still hasn't tweeted anything new. In fact, the last time he tweeted anything himself (as in, not a retweet) was on May 1st 2020, when he talked about supporting MediCinema, a charity that builds accessible theaters in hospitals to help long term patients get a little more normalcy in their lives. He urged people to donate whatever they could to help them continue that important work through the pandemic.

So, naturally, when eagle-eyed Hiddlestans saw that Hiddleston had come back to Twitter, they were surprised. When they saw that the tweet he liked was in another language, they were confused; When they figured out it was about his ex, Taylor Swift, they were shook. (And so were the Swifties, naturally.)

Hiddleston has since un-liked the tweet, but the screenshots had already been taken, and from them people were able to determine that the tweet - which was in Hindi, by the way - said:

"She didn't write songs that were in the light of the light like Tom Hiddleston and Calvin Harris."

A little confusing - but fans who are able to speak both languages were able to explain:

Twitter Error

We can't see any of the thread before this tweet, as the user in question does not have their account open to the public, but it seems to have been a thread that had something to do with Taylor Swift and which exes she wrote songs about - including "light light" relationships like the one she had with Tom Hiddleston - or Calvin Harris.

We're not sure if Hiddleston "likes" the fact that Taylor never wrote a song about him (which we can't blame him for, she absolutely destroyed Jake Gyllenhaal live on SNL without ever even saying his name), or just agrees that their relationship was never that serious. But either way, it's fun to know that even if he doesn't tweet, Tom Hiddleston still does some lurking on Twitter.
