For a superhero role, celebrities often train tirelessly and change their fitness routine to achieve the character's body they're portraying. In Robert Pattinson's case, he has a bizarre dedication to maintain his physique as Batman.

According to People Magazine, the "Twilight" actor had a few shirtless scenes in the 2022 film "The Batman," so he prepared for months to achieve the body of the famous superhero.

In an interview during the film's red carpet premiere in New York City, the actor revealed he had three months of preparation, as well as working out before and after work "all the time.

However, when a scene calls for a shirtless Batman, the actor had to be conscious about what he was consuming as he revealed that he counted sips of water for him not to ruin his body in the shot.

Regarding his shirtless experience, the actor said it was motivating and joked that "shame" is his "biggest motivation."

In the movie, Pattinson is required to wear the iconic black superhero costume, and he also shared his experience the first time he got to try it on.

He revealed that he got emotional upon trying on the costume, which helped him connect with the character he was portraying.

At first, he tried to figure out how to play the character as there was "sort of audacious acts" in the script leading him to get paranoid before shooting.

He said it's "ridiculous" to read the script while wearing a shirt at home, then he put it on for the first time, saying he felt an "elemental power."

"And then you kind of catch this glimpse in like, the subtle reflection or a shadow on the floor and you realize that the character's just way bigger than you," he added.

This is not the first time Pattinson had to change his body for a role as he prepared a gruesome body for the 2016 movie, "The Lost City of Z," which required him to look skinny.

In a previous interview, the "Breaking Dawn" star said he had "eaten nothing" to play as an adventurer wandering through the jungle.

Despite not eating anything, the actor said he "loved" his body after filming the movie as he had a 28-inch waist that only lasted for three days.
