Angelina Jolie arrives in Yemen to help the people in need amid the Russian attacks in Ukraine.

Jolie used her power again and revealed to her followers that she jetted to Yemen's capital city, Aden, on Sunday. She established a collaboration with United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) to assist the refugees and provide aid to them.

She formally announced the development through a video and photoset on the social media platform.

The actress pledged to support the people of Yemen while doing her best to let the world know about the country's current status.

"As we continue to watch the horrors unfolding in Ukraine, and call for an immediate end to the conflict and humanitarian access, I'm here in Yemen to support people who also desperately need peace," she wrote in the caption.

The "Maleficent" star noted that the situation in Yemen is also one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world. She also compared the country's issue to the current events happening in Ukraine, saying that everyone deserves the same compassion and protection.

UNHCR Supports Angelina Jolie

Following Jolie's arrival in Yemen, UNHCR has since released a statement on Sunday saying that the actress' meetings in the country would include displaced families and refugees.

"UNHCR hopes her visit will highlight the increasing humanitarian needs in Yemen and help mobilize urgent support for humanitarian work ahead of the annual High-Level Pledging Conference for Yemen on 16 March, and call for regional and international actors to commit to an end to the conflict," the agency said.

Jolie has been the UNHCR's special envoy since 2012, and her role focuses on major crises globally.

The news came after the "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" actress signed a three-year international filmmaking agreement with Fremantle. The company's global CEO, Jennifer Mullin, said that they are thrilled to work with Jolie to help her expand her career as a producer, director, actor, and humanitarian.

In a separate press release, the actress said that she wants to have the freedom to tell important stories and offer them to a global audience. The deal includes developing and creating sophisticated and powerful documentaries, feature films, and original series.
