Gabby Petito's parents are apparently working with legislators to ensure that other parents with missing children do not suffer the same fate as their daughter.

Joe Petito and Nichole Schmidt are collaborating with senators and governors to build a nationwide missing person database that will be available from anywhere.

The late vlogger's father told TMZ that national media coverage played a significant part in Gabby's case. He is aware, though, that not everyone will benefit in the same way.

He went on to say that every missing person should be given the same attention as their daughter, and that he and his co-parent will advocate for more usage of NamUs, a government program.

NamUs, according to the site, is a nationwide information resource for missing, unidentified, and unclaimed people in the United States. The DOJ-funded initiative also offers technology, forensic services, and investigative assistance in the search for missing people and unexplained remains.

The issue is that NamUs is only available in 11 states.

Gabby Petito's parents issued a list of US senators in January and began phoning all of them to rally support for increasing access to NamUs.

According to Joe, they were inundated with favorable responses after only going over half of the list, and they received the same response when they called governors' offices.

Gabby Petito's Parents May Receive A Massive Payout

After Gabby Petito's parents filed a lawsuit against his parents, further bombshells from the Brian Laundrie case may be revealed.

Joe and Nichole filed a civil action against Chis and Roberta Laundrie, demanding $100,000 in damages, because they believe Brian confessed to his parents and they failed to keep an eye on him before the FBI spent millions on the massive search.

However, Brian's parents denounced the case as "baseless," claiming that they assisted the authorities despite having no responsibility to do so. Chris and Robert have never been arrested or charged with anything since discovering their son's remains with the supposed suicide note confessing to killing Gabby Petito.

In an interview with The Sun, criminal defense lawyer Josh Ritter stated that a lot more information regarding his final days might be revealed.

However, suppose Chris and Roberta believe they could be accused of assisting their son in the destruction of evidence or harboring a fugitive. In such instance, a settlement will apparently be discussed immediately, which might earn Joe and Nichole $100,000.

"Litigation is never inexpensive. Much of the expense is determined by how long the lawsuit lasts."
