A royal expert claims that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have distinct approaches to their branding and it has created a "tension" between them.

After stepping down from their royal duties in March 2020, Archie Harrison and Lilibet Diana's parents relocated to the United States.

Following that, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex struck multi-million dollar partnerships with Netflix and Spotify.

After establishing themselves in the United States, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are no longer regarded as royals, but as Hollywood celebrities.

According to Pauline Maclaran, a marketing and consumer research professor at Royal Holloway, University of London, the pair was "fairly coherent," but there were hints of problems in their relationship due to their divergent branding perspectives.

"Individually, they have had quite diverse brand images," she told Express UK.

According to the expert, the former "Suits" star was also focused on her role as a prior "small" superstar with the legal drama brand.

Meanwhile, Prince William's younger brother had become a part of the "royal family brand."

"The blend of these distinct brand cultures is going to produce difficulties at times, as definitely occurred when Meghan sought to be a working royal during their time in England," Pauline said.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's visit at the NAACP Image Awards was mentioned by Pauline, who also authored "Royal Fever." Many people commented on how uncomfortable Prince Harry appeared on stage, in contrast to his wife.

She stated that Prince Harry's "unease" mirrored their distinct brands, demonstrating that he is not at ease with Hollywood celebrity branding.

Meanwhile, body language expert Judi James detected a change in comfort levels between the pair as they walked the stage to make their acceptance speech for the NAACP President's Award at the same event.

According to Women and Home, Prince Harry's entrance body language was "awkward and apprehensive," while Meghan Markle's confidence level was "off the scale."

"The way he curved his free arm rather than the one she was holding and placed the hand over his stomach in an anxious-looking barrier motion suggested he had returned to the state we saw him adopt when they initially went to the United States," Judi said.

She also emphasized the Duke of Sussex's anxieties as well as his respect for his wife when he let her shine on stage by "presented" her to the presenter with both hands and stepped aside, implying Meghan Markle was the star of the performance.
