Nick Cannon offered Alyssa Scott his sincerest support as the baby mama continues to mourn months after the death of their son, Zen.

On Sunday, Scott shared a photo of her holding Zen, which she took during the first time the 5-month-old got home from the hospital. The matriarch also penned a heartbreaking message to share her grief.

"I spent this day pleading with God. And even though my faith was strong, I knew how important it was to hold my baby close. Breathe his scent. Feel his hair. Touch his toes. And I did. Every single day and night for the months to come," she wrote.

Scott then spoke about her regret for only having a few photos of Zen with her since mothers are always the ones "behind the camera." Despite that, she keeps the photos close to her as they will always remind her of Zen.

She ended her post by telling Zen how he would always be part of her for the rest of her life.

Meanwhile, Cannon left emojis in the comments section to let Scott know he is with her amid the dark times in her life.

What Happened to Zen?

Cannon and his baby mama lost Zen five months after his birth. The actor shared the heartbreaking news through his "Nick Cannon Show," saying that his then-youngest child had passed away.

He revealed that they noticed that their son seemingly had "a sinus thing" and an unusual-sized head soon after he was born on June 23. It did not become a concern to them initially that Cannon even said he just had a "Cabbage Patch Kid head."

But after a few weeks, his head grew even more and caused them to finally consult a medical expert. After running a few tests, Cannon and Scott learned that Zen's sinuses were fine. However, the doctor said he had fluid build-up in his head. He then confirmed that Zen battled against Hydrocephalus.

According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Strokes, the illness specifically affects the ventricles (cavities) within a patient's brain. The pressure the fluid buildup causes can lead to brain damage and death.

"We found it was a malignant tumor in his head," he said, as quoted by Billboard. "We were faithful and hopeful for that time. He was still playing with all his brothers and sisters. I embraced every moment."
