Okay, we joked about it last week after My Chemical Romance and Panic! At The Disco gave us a new song and a sign of life, respectively - they really are trying to give the emo kids heart attacks.

We mean this in the best way - because today, Netflix's The Umbrella Academy finally released their season 3 trailer.

When we last saw our unlucky band of brothers (and now only one sister), they had just returned from the 1960s, having once again avoided the end of the world - but coming back to a very different one. In this universe, their brother Ben was alive, as was their father, and the Academy was called Sparrow Academy, not Umbrella Academy.

Now, those of us who did not read Gerard Way's Dark Horse comics, on which the show is based, are learning that the screwed-up superheroes we know and love created several time paradoxes - time paradoxes that are eating away at the world they're in.

Of course, compelling as that plot is, that's not what we're focused on - how could it be?!

First of all, we're getting our first look at Viktor Hargreeves in action - as it was only very recently announced that Elliot Page, who is transgender, and has transitioned since the last season of the show, would be returning as a male version of his character in this new season as well.

Until now, it was not known whether his transition would be addressed within the context of the show - but as the trailer shows one scene in which Viktor still has the long hair we associated with Vanya, we now know that it likely will.

We already know that this discussion will be handled tastefully and carefully, so we can't wait to hear what they have to say.

Other than that, there's also the thousand million new characters to contend with - there's some girl who can shoot birds, a guy who looks like Clayface from Batman, and, of course, a real, living Ben - who is, in the words of his own siblings, "kind of a d*ckhead."

Plus, there is the promise, as helpfully narrated by Five, of them meeting their other selves (and, as helpfully suggested by Klaus, sleeping with them) - which, we realize, may be part of the explanation for the sudden transition from Vanya to Viktor in the show's actual timeline.

And, last but not least, the soundtrack is still clearly killer - what better song to choose for a trailer like this than "Ballroom Blitz?" - AND, most importantly, THE MONKEY IS ALIVE!!!

Yes, that's right - Pogo's deaths was one of the saddest parts of this whole show, but we do get to see him again in this new universe - as a tattoo artist, apparently.

We can't wait to see how all of this comes together when The Umbrella Academy Season 3 finally lands on Netflix on June 22.
