The Fifth Element, one of the coolest sci-fi spectacles to come out of the 90s is blasting back into theaters to celebrate its 25th Anniversary - and having actually seen this on the big screen back in 1997, let me tell you, audiences are in for a treat.

Fathom Events and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment have announced that the Bruce Willis space romp will be screening for two nights in June. The special event will include interviews with writer/director Luc Besson talking about the process of creating the film, along with outtakes footage.

For those not in the know, The Fifth Element takes place in twenty-third century Brooklyn, and stars Bruce Willis as Korben Dallas, a retired-soldier-turned-cabbie who is tasked with recovering four elemental stones, which hold the key to destroying an evil entity set to collide with Earth - after a beautiful alien being named Leeloo (Mila Jovovich) falls through the roof of his flying car. Hot on his trail is an evil businessman (Gary Oldman) who is working with the entity for personal gain.

Throw in Chris Tucker as a wacky shock jock adding mile-a-minute commentary, and you have all the elements of a fun flick. What's not to love about imaginative plot lines, practical creature effects, and quirky characters embroiled in a race to save the world?

Nothing. That's what.

The movie is a brilliant blend of comedy, action, and heart wrapped up in a colorful veneer of eye-popping costumes and visually engaging world building - and we at Enstarz have an added bonus for you.

My fellow writer Melanie Weir co-hosts a podcast with yours truly called Made You Watch... (a podcast), a multi-generational film show where we recommend our favorite flicks to each other, in the hopes of bridging our nearly-20-year generation gap with lively movie discussions. I recommended The Fifth Element just a few shows back, and it's a banger for sure.

Made you Watch... (a podcast) is available everywhere you get your podcasts.

If you would like to attend either the June 26 or 29th showings of The Fifth Element, you can check it out here.
