Meghan Markle's father, Thomas Markle, faced a life-threatening health issue this week.

A news outlet first released the exclusive photos of Thomas being transported by an ambulance in Tijuana on Monday night. The 77-year-old former television lighting director also wore an oxygen mask.

It was revealed that he was rushed to a hospital across the border in Chula Vista, California, around 9:30 p.m. local time. The patriarch also could not speak to the paramedics to inform them of what happened. So he had to write down his symptoms instead, supporting that he probably suffered a stroke.

His 57-year-old daughter, Samantha Markle, released a statement to Daily Mail. She confirmed that her father is now recovering in the medical facility. Still, she put the blame on the Duchess of Sussex, who has been out of reach in the past years.

"We ask for privacy for the family, for his health and wellbeing. He just needs peace and rest. It's a travesty how much he's been tortured and how much he's had to go through thanks to my sister's disregard the past few years. That is unforgivable," she continued.

Samantha has constantly blamed Meghan for their father's deteriorating health. She also once slammed her for honoring Nelson Mandela while at odds with Thomas.

She tweeted in 2018 that Meghan should also pay tribute to her own father. After telling her to act like a humanitarian and woman, Samantha warned her that it is on the duchess if their father dies.

Thomas Markle Faced Health Issue in the Past

Aside from his recent stroke, Thomas also suffered a heart attack that caused him to miss Meghan and Prince Harry's wedding.

In the Channel 5 documentary, "Thomas Markle: My Story," he revealed that he talked to Prince Harry from his hospital bed days before the royal and Meghan tied the knot in 2018.

He alleged that the Duke of Sussex told him, "If you had listened to me, this would not have happened to you. If I'd stayed in the house and kept the door locked and never spoken to anyone, this wouldn't have happened."

Thomas then said that it was a rude thing to say, especially when Prince Harry knew he was in the hospital.

Before dropping the call, he reportedly told the royal that it was too bad he did not die since the couple could pretend they were sad.

Since then, Thomas has never heard or spoken with either Meghan or Prince Harry.
