Stranger Things star Gaten Matarazzo is getting ready to make his return to the Broadway stage.

Gaten Matarazzo is an incredibly versatile performer. Though young, the actor has built a fantastic career on both stage and screen. He starred in the hit television series Stranger Things, the show which accelerated his rise to stardom.

Now, he has made is way back to New York; On July 19th, he will be joining the cast of the well-loved Broadway show Dear Evan Hansen.

Regardless of how seasoned a performer he may be, the transition from screen to stage is certainly a significant one. Matarazzo went on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night and spoke to the late night host about the transition back to Broadway. He acknowledged to Jimmy Fallon that it has actually been seven years since he was in a Broadway show. 

The star is excited to make the transition back to the the stage, but it is certainly a different experience.

Fallon asked if the return to Broadway is similar to riding a bike - questioning whether it is something that, no matter how much time you spend away from, you can get back on and understand exactly how to work the machine. Matarazzo answered:

"This is kind of like getting on a motorcycle...just because I haven't run in a show, long term, consistently since I was twelve. And that was before my voice changed, I was only doing four shows a week then - now I'm doing eight." 

Regardless, Matarazzo is excited to step into the role, and we can't wait to see him in it!
