Happy Birthda Sandra Bullock! We hope you'll continue making more movies soon, despite sounding off your desire to retire. That said, read below to find out why despite her massive paycheck and fan base at the same time, Bullock is not keen to continue working.

Sandra Bullock is a bona fide movie star, an undeniable A-lister. She now turned 58 but looks NOTHING like it.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Sandra Bullock is an actress and producer from Virginia with a net worth of $250 million.

Sandra maintained a consistent roster of appearances and scored her first major role in the 1993 picture "Demolition Man," co-starring Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes. One year later, in 1994, the actor was cast alongside Keanu Reeves in the film "Speed."

Saying the action-thriller performed reasonably well at the movie office is an understatement. No sound mind would define $350 million worldwide to be "quite good."

Not only did Sandra earn a significant amount of money from the role ($500,000 to be exact plus $10.5 million for the sequel, according to Celebrity Net Worth), but it also catapulted her to A-list status, which she has held ever since.

Sandra Bullock Now 2022

Sandra Bullock did not become an Oscar-winning and commercially successful actress by osmosis; she worked hard to become the beloved star that she is. Following the release of the romantic comedy "The Lost City," Bullock recently announced that she is putting her personal life ahead of her job in order to focus on being a mother to her two children. While discussing her "vacation," Bullock was candid about feeling "so exhausted" from working in Hollywood.

Sandra Bullock has recently released back-to-back films, "The Unforgivable" for Netflix and "The Lost City," which is in the top 15 highest-grossing films of the year thus far. She respects the achievement, but it appears that there comes a time when you must simply walk away.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Academy Award-winning actress explained her decision as directly as possible.

"I don't want to be beholden to anyone's schedule other than my own. I'm so burnt out. I'm so tired, and I'm so not capable of making healthy, smart decisions and I know it."

She's certainly not lying.

She has produced fifty films over the period of thirty-five years. The 57-year-old actress is raising her two children as well, Louis Bardo and Laila (reported ages: 12 and 10).

Obviously, nearly everyone can see why she feels the need to take a break from the industry, althoough at the same time, more of her works are going to be widely appreciated.

She has a succint manner of explaining her decision to retire though. She said, "Work has always been steady for me, and I've been so lucky. I realized it possibly was becoming my crutch. It was like opening up a fridge all the time and looking for something that was never in the fridge. I said to myself, 'Stop looking for it here because it doesn't exist here. You already have it; establish it, find it and be OK not having work to validate you."
