Anne Heche's life-threatening injuries raised questions about whether the actress could ever survive them.

Fans became worried about Heche when her representative clarified this week that the actress is in "extremely critical condition" after previously saying that she was already stable.

"She has a significant pulmonary injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention. She is in a coma and has not regained consciousness since shortly after the accident," the update revealed.

Days after the latest status was disclosed, a news outlet received a tip from a source who divulged that her condition is "dire" and has not improved since she was first admitted to the medical facility.

The insider then seemingly told everyone to brace themselves as Heche is in critical condition but still fighting for her life.

With the injuries and damages she sustained, fans started to think of the worst-case scenario, with Heche either succumbing from them or going through hell recuperating.

One said, "This Anne Heche story is crazy. Hoping she'll survive and go on to find healing."

Anne Heche's Accident Investigation Reveals Shocking Findings

The queries came out soon after the police released an official report about the initial findings regarding the incident.

Law enforcement sources, per New York Post, told a news outlet that she was under the influence of cocaine when she drove her vehicle and caused a high-speed crash in California. It was also noted that the cocaine she took might have contained fentanyl which made the situation worse.

His representatives have been denying drug boozing before the crash. However, the investigators found the stimulant in her system through the blood they drew for the substance test.

Now that it is proven that she was indeed under influence, the comments made by legal analyst Emily D. Baker might happen soon.

For what it's worth, she told PEOPLE about the potential legal issues she might face once she wakes up from coma.

"If she drove into someone's house because something was going on and there was an intention there, it's a much different circumstance. Without more known, it's hard to evaluate. But on a standard misdemeanor DUI where no one's injured, there's generally not jail time," she said.

Baker, who is also a former Los Angeles County deputy district attorney, explained that despite the eyewitnesses' claims that Heche drove recklessly, the investigation might soon reveal what led her to drive that way.

Currently, it remains unknown the next steps the authorities will take.
