"Dancing With the Stars" star Sharna Burgess sets the record straight on her exit from the show and reveals the real reason on her Instagram story.

Sharna Burgess is famously known as a professional partner and troupe member on the ABC show "Dancing with the Stars", appearing since 2005. On the 27th season of "Dancing with the Stars", she won the show alongside celebrity partner Bobby Bones.

In a recent Instagram story, the pro-dancer sadly announced her departure from the show in the upcoming season. She expressed that it was a "really hard decision" that stemmed from her commitment to her newly-born baby with Brian Austin Green in June.

"Hi, I have some news that I have to tell you guys, because I keep getting so many DMs about it. I, after long conversations and lots of thinking and really trying to sit with what was right ... I have made the really hard decision to not to do the season this year of 'Dancing With the Stars." Burgess announced before adding, "There has been a list that was released saying that I would be a pro and I won't be."

The 37 year old reality star also clarified that amidst recently giving birth, her body is still "at 100 percent capacity" and fit to dance. However, she has still decided to opt off this year's season to focus on her responsibilities as a mother.

"I was not ready to spend, at minimum, 10 hours a day away from Zane," The pro-dancer explained. "I'm a full-time breastfeeding mama. And not only that, I just am so in love with being a mom. As much as it was hard to say no to 'Dancing'... I have this family and this newborn at home that I may never get these moments back."

Burgess has also been a judge on the Australian version of "Dancing with the Stars" alongside Craig Revel Horwood and Tristan MacManus since 2019.

"Dancing with the Stars" rights were recently acquired by Disney+ from ABC network. The series will premiere its 31st season, which is set to stream on September 19 this year. Tyra Banks will appear as a host and executive producer and feature judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough this season.
