Barbara Walters is said to be in a sad prison of suffering in her alleged dying days.

Just Wednesday, former "The View" co-host Whoopi Goldberg wished the 93-year-old a happy birthday.

The former "TODAY" show host was born in 1929 in Boston.

Barbara's particular mention, on the other hand, has only increased suspicions about the iconic newscaster, who has been missing in action on TV screens since 2016.

She hasn't been seen in public since 2016, and it's been reported that she has severe dementia, according to Radar Online.

Barbara was the brains behind the smash program, but she apparently seldom leaves her bed these days and doesn't even recognize her celebrity acquaintances.

She also has tiredness, lethargy, anxiety, and agitation, according to the source.

"She's really fragile and spends a lot of the day asleep," they continued.

Visitors are not even permitted to visit her New York residence, where insiders claim she is fast deteriorating. In fact, they stated that ABC is already planning her obituary, and that former colleagues feel Barbara is on her way out.

It is reported that the network would like to be ready when their favorite host retires for good.

While her closest trusted friends and spokesperson stated that Barbara Walters was healthy in 2019, another insider told the magazine that she is "fading a bit more every day."

"She's nearing the end, and her crew is trying to handle things just like Barbara would want them."

They went on to add that the former talk show host's dementia has deteriorated and that her carer is now assisting her with daily choices. But, more often than not, she'll just gaze at them blankly.

Some of the ladies from "The View" still contact her, and she can sometimes recognize Joy Behar's voice. On bad days, she'd hang up the phone.

Barbara's intellect appears to shut off, "exactly like a blank screen on a television," according to caregivers.

Barbara is claimed to be a prisoner in her opulent mansion in New York's Central Park, where she is wheelchair-bound. Aside from dementia, she is said to have heart problems and hearing loss, according to another story.

Her dementia is alleged to have progressed to the point that she couldn't even recognize Whoopi.

Barbara Walters was the host of "The View" from 1997 until she retired in 2014. She was conspicuously absent from the show's 25th anniversary festivities earlier this year.
