Because Jeffrey Dahmer had a hidden strategy that he may not have been aware of, he was able to elude police arrest six times.

FBI records, however, revealed Dahmer's strategies.

The serial murderer admitted in an interview that he avoided being apprehended by police multiple times because he could "talk his way" out of trouble.

The Netflix documentary series included details of such close calls. Glenda Cleveland, Dahmer's next-door neighbor, famously discovered him in May 1991 with a nude, drugged, and bleeding 14-year-old Konerak Sinthasomphone.

Cleveland called the police in the drama, but they dismissed it as a dispute between lovers and closed the case.

According to FBI records obtained by The Sun, Dahmer claimed to be afraid and believe he would be apprehended that evening.

In a confession made by the serial murderer to the FBI, if the police had brought their victim to the hospital, they would have discovered that Sinthasomphone already had holes in his brain.

Instead, Dahmer convinced the police that they had a lover's argument that evening, and he even gave the officer the images.

In other instances, self-published author Gisela K stated that Jeffrey Dahmer utilized sarcasm or made jokes to evade discovery when researching his case for her book "The Milwaukee Monster."

She said in an interview with The Sun that when Dahmer and Steven Tuomi arrived at the Ambassador Hotel and hired a room there, the serial murderer didn't recall killing his victim.

Instead, he reserved an additional night at the hotel, bought a suitcase, and pushed the bag with Tuomi inside out of the building.

Dahmer took a cab home at the time since he was still living with his grandmother and his driver's license had expired. When the taxi driver arrived, he requested assistance in getting the luggage into the car.

According to the author, "The driver giggled and inquired as to whether or not he had a dead corpse inside, and Dahmer also laughed and responded, 'Yeah, something like that.'"

Gisela said that Dahmer "compartmentalized everything" beginning with his early years, which enabled him to continue for a long time without being discovered.

Even Dahmer's former neighbors praised him for being "quiet" and "nice."

Jeffrey Dahmer killed 17 people in total between 1978 and 1991. He dismembered his victims, kept some of their body parts as mementos, and even consumed some of their body parts.

Dahmer enticed members of the LGBT, Black, or Hispanic populations back to his flat by promising to pay them for nude photos.

After one of his victims, Tracy Edwards, managed to escape and point police to his flat, he was apprehended in July 1991.
