King Charles III succeeded to the throne two days after Queen Elizabeth II died.

He is yet to be formally anointed King of England.

Buckingham Palace has already set the date of the next sovereign's coronation, which will take place on May 6, 2023, amid rumours that it will take place around the death of the late monarch's event.

The event, according to a statement received by the Washington Post, would be "based in historical traditions and pageantry," as well as "reflect the monarch's position today and look forward."

At the upcoming occasion, the father-of-two will become the oldest person to be crowned in British history.

According to Bloomberg, the monarch may opt for a more modest version of previous ceremonies, making this occasion a smaller affair.

Though he'll be seated on a throne known as Edward's Chair, where he'll be holding the scepter, rod, and orb, his ceremony will still be full of everything.
