Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are at risk of losing their royal titles amid the race row, prompting an expert to weigh in on how this will affect their finances.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have maintained their silence amid the nudges from the public and some experts that they speak up and distance themselves from Omid Scobie's controversial book "Endgame," which named King Charles and Kate Middleton as the alleged racist royals. However, Conservative MP Bob Seely is making a move that could lead to the Sussexes losing their dukedom. Mark Boardman, an entertainment and showbiz expert with over 20 years of experience, warned the royal couple of its financial impact in case Seely's bill is approved.

"The potential costs of losing royal titles could be substantial, not only for the immediate financial impact but also the long-term effects on their earning potential," Boardman told Daily Express US

"Financial penalties or contractual repercussions tied to their titles within existing contracts could amount to millions, particularly if lucrative commercial deals are affected to the tune of millions a year in lost income should the worst happen, and the Sussexes lose their royal titles," he added.

However, the expert believes that the public reaction to Prince Harry and Markle losing their royal titles may vary, depending on the country. He speculated that its most significant effects would be felt in the United King and the United States.

"While some may view it positively as a move towards independence, others may see it negatively as a departure from tradition," he said.

Seely decided to pass a bill adapting the laws passed in the First World War, denying enemy German nobles their British titles. This would force the Commons to consider the removal of the Sussexes' royal titles.

The politician's move followed the release of "Endgame," which brought back the royal race scandal. Seely said that "of all the damaging insults to throw, 'racism' is the most poisonously insidious" because it leaves a stigma and is "impossible to prove when false."

Meanwhile, royal biographer and Vanity Fair royal correspondent Katie Nicholl claimed the Sussexes would hold on to their titles as much as they could because they allegedly wouldn't be as popular or influential without them.

"I suspect, we know from this couple that they will do everything possible to hold on to those titles because without the Duke and Duchess, they are just Harry and Meghan, and that simply doesn't carry the same amount of weight," Nicholl said on GB News.
