Whoopi Goldberg shared a fond memory with her late mom, Emma Harris, during their visit to the happiest place on Earth.

On Thursday's episode of "The View," the co-host recounted her first trip to Disneyland and how significant it was for her and her mother. Goldberg said she brought her mom along during her first visit because her mother had always wanted to bring her and her sibling there but couldn't afford the tickets.

"I took her," she said, per Entertainment Weekly. "The first time I went was in the early '80s, but my mother had always said, 'I'm going to take you and Clyde' -- that's my brother -- 'I'm gonna take you to Disneyland,' and she never could afford to do it."

Goldberg wanted the entire experience to be a surprise for her mom. They visited right after Harris arrived to see her in California.

"I asked her to come see me in California, sent her a ticket, and she said, 'You know, where do you live because I feel like I've been in this car a long time,'" she recalled. "She had no idea where we were going."

They drove with her mom's suitcase still "in the back" of the car, then she made Harris read the roadway signs.

"I said, 'Oh, Ma, I'm trying to find the thing -- what does that thing up there say?' And she said, 'Disney... land,'" Goldberg continued, noting her mom's confused look. "I said, 'Welcome to Disneyland, Ma.'"

In September, Goldberg shared a throwback photo of her with her late mom on Instagram to pay tribute to the latter's birthday. In the snap, the mother and daughter noticeably share a striking resemblance, which didn't go unnoticed by fans.

"Today is My Mother Emma's Birthday. Always on my mind, always in my heart," Goldberg wrote in the caption.

"You literally stole her entire face. How precious is that????" one commented. Another added, "You stole her entire face!!!!!!! ️️️️️️️️ Happy Heavenly Birthday."

"A mother's love is the greatest love of all & you had it for decades, she got to see her daughter soar to magnificent heights & she's still watching, always with you! Happy heavenly birthday," a third person added.

Goldberg's mom passed away in 2010. She announced her passing in one episode of "The View" and described her as "one of the best people I've had the privilege of knowing."

"I'm not sad, because she had a great time," Goldberg said, per HuffPost. "My mother was a great adventure person, so she loved to go on adventures and my brother and I made sure that her life was full and rich.

"I think I'm just sad sometimes that I think, 'Who will love me the way that she did?' But I realize that my brother and I have each other, and so we're ok."
