Tom Hollander shared a mistake that gave him a glimpse of how much Tom Holland made for "The Avengers" movie, and it was a huge sum.

On Tuesday's episode of "Late Night With Seth Meyers," the 56-year-old "White Lotus" star was asked if people have made mistakes about him and Holland since their names were too similar.

Hollander said, "Yeah," and joked, "It's been very difficult cause you know, I was here first," prompting the audience to laugh.

The actor then spoke about some incidents when children got disappointed upon seeing him instead of the "Spider-Man" star, acknowledging that some people mistook him for the 27-year-old actor in a "non-visual context" when they heard his name.

According to him, one time, the accounts department of his agency also mistakenly sent him Holland's first box-office bonus for "The Avengers."

"And people in the accounts department of my agency got confused, and we were with the same agency briefly. And it was a terrible moment," he shared while the audience laughed.

"I went to see my friend who was doing theater in England for £300 a week, you know, but doing great work, Chekhov, and I sat smugly in the audience having just done a BBC show for 30 grand or something, which was you know, going to get me through the next year or so," Hollander shared.

He continued, "And I was think, 'Well, this is marvelous. I'm very prosperous.' But my good friend Peter is doing this great play, and I'm going to go afterward and see him and slightly patronize him and say 'how wonderful it was.'"

During the interval, Hollander checked his inbox and saw a surprising message. One email from the agency read, "Payment advice, your first box-office bonus."

He knew in an instant that it was not for him, even jokingly saying, "I don't think I'm in the 'Avengers,'" but proceeded to open it anyway.

"It was an astonishing amount of money. It wasn't his salary. It was his first box-office bonus, not the whole box office, the first one," Hollander explained.

"And it was more money than I've ever -- it was a seven-figure sum. He was 20 or something. So my feeling of smugness that you remember I had in the first half disappeared very quickly. But that's showbiz, it's up, it's down, it's hero, it's zero."
