Travis Kelce is not letting his newfound fame from his high-profile relationship with Taylor Swift affect his performance on the field.

Ahead of the 2024 Super Bowl, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end made an appearance Wednesday on "The Pat McAfee Show," where he opened up about how he balances his personal life with his professional responsibilities.

Kelce said he had to "make sure" the Chiefs knew where his focus was after he was thrust into the media spotlight when his romance with Swift became public last year.

"I had to kind of reel it back because everybody in this building knows my intentions, man, football is my main focus right now," the NFL star told ESPN host Pat McAfee.

Addressing the perceptions surrounding him, Kelce emphasized his commitment to the team, stating, "There's a lot of people counting on me in this building, in this city, in this organization, so this is my number one focus at the time to be able to pour everything I've got out there on the field."

Kelce went on to explain that he wanted to show the organization through his actions that he was "100% focused" on the team and their games, including the upcoming Super Bowl.

He added, "100% I had to look back and take a step back and really see how I was portraying myself to the world and make sure everybody knew that I was focused, all while still enjoying my life off the field."

As part of his commitment to the Chiefs' quest for back-to-back Super Bowl wins, Kelce won't be able to accompany Swift to this weekend's 2024 Grammy Awards, where she's nominated for six awards, including Album of the Year.

While Kelce wanted to support his girlfriend at the awards ceremony, he explained that his team has practice and may travel this weekend.

"I wish I could go support Taylor at the Grammys and watch her win every single award that she's nominated for," the football star told McAfee. "Unfortunately, I've gotta get ready for this big old Super Bowl that we've got in a week."

Despite their busy schedules, Swift has cheered for Kelce in person at 12 Chiefs games since they began dating, while her beau supported her at her "Eras Tour."

While Kelce won't be at the Grammys, Swift reportedly plans to attend Super Bowl 2024 in Las Vegas on Feb. 11.
