The second season of the "Game of Thrones" spinoff is coming to HBO/Max in a few months.

JB Perrette, the head of Global Streaming and Games for Warner Bros' Discovery, shared in a recent media conference Q&A that Season 2 of "House of the Dragon" will premiere on HBO and Max in June, per Deadline.

However, he did not give a specific premiere date.

In November last year, Casey Bloys, content chief of HBO and Max, said that the series' second season will premiere in early summer.

Meanwhile, David Zaslav, Warner Bros. Discovery's CEO, shared in their February earnings call that it would premiere in the second quarter of 2024, per The Hollywood Reporter.

"Looking ahead, we've got one of the best lineups in the history of HBO. This next quarter, we'll have 'Hacks' and 'House of the Dragon,' followed by DC's 'The Penguin' and the new 'Dune' series," Zaslav confirmed.

Unlike Season 1 of "House of the Dragon," which had 10 episodes, the new season will only have eight episodes, per Screen Rant.

It will reportedly follow the Targaryen civil war called "Dance of the Dragons," which leads to the disappearance of dragons from Westeros. Season 2 will also explore the impact of the war on the major characters.

Season 2 will pick up from Rhaenyra Targaryen's decision to engage in war with Alicent Hightower.

Meanwhile, it was previously confirmed that "House of the Dragon" Season 2 will introduce five new members to the show's growing cast.

They are Addam of Hull (Clinton Liberty), Ser Alfred Broome (Jamie Kenna), Hugh (Kieran Bew), Ulf (Tom Bennett) and Ser Rickard Thorne (Vincent Regan), per Entertainment Weekly.

It was also announced that Tom Taylor got cast as Cregan Stark, the character previously hinted at in Season 1.

George R. R. Martin attends the FYC special screening for HBO Max's "House Of The Dragon" at DGA Theater Complex on March 07, 2023 in Los Angeles, California.

Interestingly, in a December blog post titled "A Visit to Old Blighty," George R.R. Martin shared that he had visited the studio where the show was being filmed and teased the first two episodes of "House of the Dragon" Season 2.

"The highlight of the trip, though, had to be the sneak preview that Ryan gave me of the first two episodes of 'House of the Dragon' Season 2. (Rough cuts, of course)," he wrote.

"Of course, I am hardly objective when talking about anything based on my own work... but I have to say, I thought both episodes were just great," the novelist-screenwriter shared.

He added, "Dark, mind you. Very dark. They may make you cry."
