Lionel Richie's "Tuskegee" album hit No. 1 on Billboard Top 200 Chart today ousting rapper Nicki MInaj from the top spot.

"Tuskegee" also sits at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Music Albums chart for the second week and has become the best-selling country album in 2012 with overall sales of 422,856 copies.

“I love the feeling!” Richie said in a statement. “You cannot beat the feeling of sitting on top of the charts. I had almost forgotten what it feels like, but now that I am there, I know exactly what it feels like. It feels great! It is really a very exciting time and I am enjoying the ride.”

This is the album’s third consecutive week in the Top 5 of the Billboard Top 200.

The album that features 13 duets of Richie's hits with Jason Aldean, Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney, Billy Currington, Little Big Town, Tim McGraw, Willie Nelson, Jennifer Nettles, Rascal Flatts, Kenny Rogers, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton and Shania Twain, was released on March 26.
