Per a press statement from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Minnesota, Jennifer Stately purportedly stabbed two of her sons on March 15. One succumbed to the injuries inflicted, while the other survived with non-life-threatening wounds.

Allegedly, following the stabbing, Jennifer Stately proceeded to ignite their residence ablaze. Her second son, injured in the incident, lost his life due to smoke inhalation. 'The Star Tribune' identifies the deceased boys as 6-year-old Remi Stately and 5-year-old Tristan Stately.

Reportedly, Stately left the scene with her third son, a 3-year-old, and departed in her vehicle. Subsequently, authorities issued an Amber Alert for the suspect and her toddler, Ethan Stately.

Later that evening, a vigilant motorist spotted Stately's vehicle and notified law enforcement. Following this tip-off, authorities conducted a traffic stop on Stately's vehicle. Upon inspection, they discovered her toddler son bearing injuries and indications of neglect, as per the U.S. Attorney's Office.
