Martin Lawrence Divorce: Actor and Shamicka Split After 17 Years

Bad Boy's star Martin Lawrence and wife Shamicka have announced their decision to divorce after  being together for 17 years.  A representative for Martin Lawrence, 47, and Shamicka, 37, released a statement saying:  "Martin and Shamicka Lawrence have decided to divorce. The couple has made the joint decision to part ways."

The pair said in the statement: "Out of love and respect for one another we will continue to remain friends and raise our two beautiful daughters together."

Lawrence dated Shamicka for 15 years before they married their Beverly Hills home in July 10, 2010. They have two daughters, Amara and Iyana.

Martin Lawrence starred in Bad Boys, Blue Streak, and Big Momma's House. He also starred in his own television series, Martin, in the 90's. He recently completed a sold-out national stand-up  comedy tour. He had previously been married to ex-wife Patricia Southall, a former Miss Virginia USA winner, and has a teenage daughter with her. Southall is not married to NFL Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith.
