Charli XCX will be collaborating with Britney Spears on a new song, she revealed in a Digital Spy interview on Aug 25.

The English singer-songwriter - known for hits like Nuclear SeasonYou are the One, and her collaboration with Icona Pop, I Love it - is working on new music with Spears. 

"I was freaking out. I didn't even want to go to the session I was so excited. I was so worried I would f*** it up," Charlie said about the collaboration.

She also suggested that she was done with writing the song that she would collaborate on with Spears: "I was doing some stuff for that yesterday actually. Who knows how it will go. We've written one song and it's a great track and if she likes it then amazing. It was just an honor to be asked." 

Charli XCX released her debut album, True Romance, in April 2013.

It was announced earlier in August that Spears' new single, All Eyes on Me, is set for release on Sept. 17. 

She has slowly been busy stirring up hype for the track, teasing her Twitter followers about the song's release by saying on Aug. 13, "Patient kiddies! It's coming MUCH sooner than you think ;)."

She has been tweeting about the new music throughout the month, writing on Aug. 20, "One of the most beautiful songs I have recorded in a LONG time :)" and then on Aug. 23, "Heard #AllEyesOnBritney24Days was trending. Any guesses what's coming? ;)"

Spears' website has a timer leading up to the release of All Eyes on MeThe song might be the first single to release off of her anticipated eighth studio album, which will be a follow-up to 2011's Femme FataleShe confirmed earlier in the summer that Will.i.am was heavily involved in bringing the album to life.

Naughty Boy and William Orbit will be sharing production duties with Will.i.am for Spears' new album.
