The US release date for Diana, the Oliver Hirschbiegel-directed biopic about the Princess of Wales, has been set for Nov. 1 in a limited nationwide release, according to a Deadline report.

The film focuses on the last two years of princess Diana's life, after her divorce from Prince Charles and her love affairs with Dr. Hasnat Khan and Dodi Fayed. Naomi Watts portrays princess Diana, while Naveen Andrews plays Khan and Cas Anwar plays Fayed. The screenplay, which was written by Stephen Jeffreys, is based on Kate Snell's book Diana: Her Last Love (2001).

The film also stars Laurence Belcher as Prince William, Harry Holland as prince Harry, and Douglas Hodge as Paul Burrell.

According to recent reports, Khan strongly disapproved of the portrayal of their love affair in the film. He said that it was "completely wrong," in an interview with U.K.'s Mail on Aug. 25.

"I don't see this movie doing well at all. It is based on gossip and Diana's friends talking about a relationship that they didn't know much about, and some of my relatives who didn't know much about it either," he told the Daily Mail. "It is all based on hypotheses and gossip."

Khan has not watched the film and doesn't intend on watching it either.

In an interview with Vanity Fair last month, Diana's close friend, Jemima Khan said that the princess had been madly in love with Dr. Khan. Diana had a two-year relationship with Khan and was looking to get married to him.

The world premiere of the film will take place in London on Sept. 5.
