Pearl Jam released a new single, Sirens, off of its new album, Lightning Bolt, via SiriusXM radio station and iTunes along with an official video posted to its YouTube channel on Sept. 18.

Sirens is the second song the band has released from Lightning Bolt. The band released the first single, Mind Your Manners, during the last week of August. The videos for both songs were directed by Danny Clinch.

Mind Your Manners was an explosive riot which lassoed themes of gun violence, global warming, war and terrorism. "Try my patience/My patience trying/This world's a lonely living/That makes me want to cry/All along they're saying/Mind your manners," Vedder's angst-ridden vocals drove the point home.

Unlike Mind Your Manners, Sirens mines inspiration from the other, more loverlorn side of Pearl Jam. On the song, Vedder's poetic and bittersweet strain, that is more pronounced in his solo career, is varnished by Pearl Jam's indelible raucousness. Four minutes into the song, a shredding guitar solo breaks the mellow drift.

"Oh, I could take your hand, and feel your breath/For feel that someday will be over/Pull you close, so much to lose/Knowing that nothing lasts forever/I didn't care, before you were here/A distant laughter, with the everafter/But all things change, let this remain," Vedder croons.

The video shows a partially lit, silhouetted Pearl Jam playing the song.

Lightning Bolt is scheduled for release on Oct. 15.
