Nicki Minaj has reportedly teamed with reality show producer Mona Scott-Young to come up with a new reality show for the rapper.

DiaryofaHollywoodstreetking reports the Starships rapper has signed on with the co-creator of the Love & Hip-Hop television franchise "to stay in the spotlight."

The insider said because the Queens-bred rapper hasn't released new music since her appearance on American Idol, so she wants to land a new television deal to "before the teenagers forget about her."

"Nicki's music career is in the toilet ... so you better believe she's gonna do what she has to so she doesn't become a has-been," the source told the urban blog.

The source said Minaj will likely follow in R & B singer K Michelle's footsteps to land her own show. The insider suggested there were secret deals made between K Michelle and Scott-Young to get her own Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta spinoff.

"The industry knows all about what K Michelle did to become Mona's number one babygirl ... so Nicki will probably be given the 'serve up extras' ultimatum to stay on Mona's good side ... 'cause it ain't pretty when you're on her sh-t list," said the source.

"Nicki Minaj is really an actress. She loved her gig on A.I., and even her E! reality spots," said the insider who referred to Minaj's 2012 E! reality show My Truth and her judging gig at American Idol.
