NBC released footage of deleted scenes from season 5 of The Voice on Wednesday and the clip, titled What You Didn't See, features Adam Levine impersonating fellow coach Blake Shelton.

During rehearsals with his acts and a appearance from his guest mentor OneRepublic lead singer Ryan Tedder, Levine vented his frustrations about the need for the battle rounds performances to be perfect. The Maroon 5 frontman said if it wasn't right he would "hear it" from Shelton.

Levine then pretended to be Shelton and said with a Southern accent, " 'What in the hell is wrong with you? You're an idiot.' "

"I can already hear [Shelton]," Levine added, frustrated.

Levine expressed his competitiveness with Shelton, a three-time Voice winner, in previous episodes of season 5. He pulled a prank on the country singer to land a contestant he wanted during the blind auditions. When Shelton was unable to turn his chair around to show his interest in a singer, Levine blurted out, "His chair is broken!"

Shelton, visibly upset, screamed, "I didn't do that!"

After realizing Levine was responsible for the prank, Shelton yelled at him, "You did this! You did this to me!"

Their competition became physical during the blind auditions when Levine playfully slapped Shelton. As the Love Somebody singer was pining to get a strong contestant on his team he walked up to Shelton's chair and told him, "We're gonna gun for you homey," adding, "You won three years in a row. You need to lose."

Levine then slapped Shelton and told him it "felt really good" during the episode that aired Sept. 30.
