The official trailer for Lana Del Ray's new film Tropico was released Friday and features the Blue Jeans singer in a noir-ish setting in Los Angeles with sex and guns.

The frame is blurred at the edges and the colors are washed-out. At times the camera's lingers aimlessly, capturing a sense of stasis with Rey just staring into space holding an ice cream cone in a grocery store. Other parts of the clip it packs in some vigor with violent scenes, and bits where she is seen playing a stripper. Her lover in the film looks like a bit of a aggressive goon, he is also seen shooting a gun into the air at one point.

The singer wears black hair and a tear drop tattoo by her right eye for her character in the film. In one part, she flirts with another woman.

The clip, which is sans dialogue, takes the viewer through dark and debauch scenes featuring a deranged milieu. At one point Rey is also seen toying with a white snake.

Before the trailer was released short teasers helped build anticipation for the film. One of them, featured Rey begging forgiveness for her sins from the Lord.

"Dear John, forgive us our sins," she kept repeating through the 13-second clip.

The singer announced she was working on the 30-minute project in July. In posters, the film has been described as a tale "of redemption told to the music of Body Electric God's and Monster's Bel Air."

Of late, it seems like Rey seems to be making an effort to be a part of the film industry. She gave $10,000 to a Kickstarter project to fund Hi, How Are You: A Short Film Starring Daniel Johnston, a "psychedelic" movie about the cult singer-songwriter. She is now being credited as an executive producer on the project.

Tropico will release on Dec. 5.
