Tami Roman of Basketball Wives has broken her silence about rumors that she bleached her skin.

She cleared up the controversy during a phone interview with the Tony Sculfield and The Morning Riot show on WGCI.

"That is the biggest lie on the face of the planet. I was so heated," she said.

She went on to say that the rumors upset her so much because lots of young women admire her and she didn't want them to think she struggled with her confidence.

In the picture that caused the uproar, Roman's skin is noticeably lighter than what fans are used to seeing. She tweeted the photo Tuesday and explained why her skin appeared to be so light during the interview.

"It's a part of a new campaign called The Painted Woman. It's me and several others, you now, reality personalities are all involved. I took a picture behind the scenes and because it was from my camera phone, the flash wasn't right, the lighting wasn't right and so people took off with that."

Roman ended the interview with a special message for her haters and those who accused her of bleaching her skin.

"Tami Roman would never bleach her skin. And stop believing these little bootleg blogging sites! I don't even know where to get [skin bleach cream]...Wherever you get it from I know it doesn't happen overnight."

Roman also addressed the rumors on Twitter and told her more than 1 million follwers "Don't believe the hype and stay blessed" Thursday.
