More information is coming out about the tragic and shocking death of actor Paul Walker who died after a car crash Saturday afternoon.

Bill Townsend, who was with the Fast and Furious franchise actor just before his death revealed to E! News, "[Walker] had been so happy."

Townsend, who met Walker, was an attendee at a fundraising event for Walker's foundation, Reach Out Worldwide that same day.

He said, "[Walker] was there at the event and had managed to raise thousands and so many people had brought toys. So many people had come out to support the charity and he was with his friends."

Townsend continued and said that Walker was "overwhelmed" by how much support he had received for his event. He said Reach Out Worldwide meant "everything" to the actor and his dream was to help people in tragic situations, such as those impacted by the typoon in the Phillippines last month.

Townsend told E! News he saw the tragic car crash when he was on his way home from the event around 3 in the afternoon.

He described the scene and said, "I saw the fire engines and saw the smoke and I had a horrible feeling that something terrible had happened. But I never thought it was Paul...He was a fantastic man."

An insider who is close to Walker's family has also spoken out about their devastating loss and revealed that the police are still investigating the incident trying to figure out what happened.

Walker was in the passenger seat of his Porsche that he allowed his friend to test drive when the car crashed into a tree before bursting into flames.
