News had broken on Dec. 2 that musician Rita Ora had been cast to don the role of Christian Grey's (Jamie Dornan) stepsister in the film adaptation of E.L. James' Fifty Shades of Grey, which has since been met with severe disagreeance on the part of its loyalists.

Prior to the backlash she started receiving, Ora had taken to Twitter to reveal the exciting news that she'd been attached to play the part of the shy, college graduate turned Red Room of Pain participant.

"It's official! I've been cast in @Fifty Shades of Grey as Christian's sister Mia. #FiftyShades"

While all of the celebrities signed onto the project have inevitably faced their fair share of naysayers, some fans of the racy read pulled no punches when expressing their disapproval over the 23-year-old.

"She is supposed to be Caucasian, raven color hair and tall," posted Instagram user @smccown1968 on Wednesday.

"She is described as being an all American type. A white brunette. Rita Ora is pretty but she doesn't fit the description," wrote @allisonjeune.

"They've casted Rita Ora as Christian Grey's sister in 50 Shades movie. I'm sorry but that's ridiculous," said Shane Harvey via Twitter.
