Kordell Stewart's divorce to Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Stewart has been finalized.
His attorney, Shiel Edlin, said the former NFL player was "very disappointed" that his marriage to the reality star did not work out.
"He expected to be married for life," Edlin told TMZ.
Kordell filed a petition for divorce from Porsha on March 22 in Fulton County, Ga., just before what would have been the couple's two-year anniversary on May 21.
The sports commentator is still upset that his ex-wife has been suggesting he is gay.
"For reasons we cannot understand, [Porsha] displayed a reckless abandonment of anything close to the truth over the last eight months," Edlin said. "We are also hopeful that Porsha will stop vilifying Kordell at every opportunity."
Porsha talked about her marriage to Kordell in a recent episode of TRHOA. She revealed during a therapy session how controlling Kordell was, and that her name was not on the deed to the house they lived in nor on any of their bank accounts.
"I was living a lie. I wanted people to see a completely different picture from what was actually happening," she told the cameras. "Kordell was a [different] person behind closed doors."
When the therapist asked why she married Kordell in the first place, Porsha replied, "My father always had a plan for me and Kordell had that characteristic and that was familiar to me from my father."
Kordell wrote in his divorce petition that he should not provide alimony support to Porsha because she's an "able-bodied person earning income and is capable of supporting herself."
