Earlier in December, Selena Gomez cancelled her world tour stops in Australia and Asia so that she can have some down time, and the singer has since hinted that she is quite happy with her decision.

The 21-year-old cut short her Stars Dance world tour, which was going to travel Down Under and through Asia in January and February. An insider said at the time, "She's been working non-stop for six years. She hit a wall. She wants to spend time with her family, especially for the holidays."

Days after the cancellation, Gomez talked about how pleased she is to be off the road. The former Disney star took to Instagram on Dec. 22 to post a black and white photo of her cuddling a baby. She captioned the shot, "I'm the happiest I've been in a while.. So blessed and thankful for the future, for release and to finally be happy for those I loved..."

When she cancelled her tour dates, Gomez released the following statement through promoter Live Nation:

"My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them. But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be. To my fans, I sincerely apologize and I hope you guys know how much each and every one of you mean to me."

Stars Dance is Gomez's first world tour. In between stops, she made time for a Thanksgiving halftime performance at Cowboys Stadium in Texas and an X Factor performance of Slow Down.
