Should fans of New Girl and Parks and Recreation start getting excited?

It looks like New Girl fanatics should fire up their hype machine, and get ready to see their lead man Jake Johnson in a much-anticipated sequel. Parks N' Rec faithful will have to hold on for now, as their future Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt is still only rumored.

"I know I want to do it and I know the director (Colin Trevorrow) wants me to do it so now it's just a matter of everyone coming together and making sure it can work," said Pratt, the NBC comedian, earlier this month.

With Jake Johnson listed on the IMDB cast page for Jurassic World and Pratt anticipated to follow, the franchise is adding the splash of comedy that has worked so well for it in the past.

The epic first installment of Jurassic Park stared fan-favorite, Jeff Goldblum, who still isn't ruled out to make an appearance in the new one. He gave fans laughs during dire situations, like from the back of a truck while a T-Rex was chasing him.

Whether it is Goldblum or Vince Vaughn, Jurassic Park has shown a precedent to rely on funnymen for leading roles. If fans do see a pairing of Johnson and Pratt, can they carry the dinosaur torch, which still burns bright 20 years later?

In other casting news, Nick Robinson and Ty Simpkins are among the cast to play brothers in the film, while Bryce Dallas Howard will be playing the lead actress role.

Stay tuned, as we will bring you news until Jun. 2015 release date. Here's a little something to remind everyone what they're waiting for.
