Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas were photographed together for the first time in months on Sunday, Dec. 22.

The actors - who announced their separation in August - sported their wedding bands while leaving their New York City apartment. After eating lunch at a local restaurant, they watched Motown on Broadway and saw The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug with their son, Dylan, 13, and daughter Carys, 10.

The couple, who celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary on Nov. 18, are working on a reconciliation. Douglas told the December 2013 issue of GQ"I hope to resolve my marriage in a positive fashion."

They went trick-or-treating with their children in Bedford, N.Y., on Oct. 31. Douglas revealed during a Nov. 1 appearance on Live With Kelly & Michael, "My son Dylan was a hobbit, my daughter Carys was a kind of flapper, and Catherine was Snow White."

Douglas reaffirmed his commitment to the Red 2 actress when he stopped by The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on Oct. 21.

"Everything should hopefully be on the up and up," the Golden Globe nominee said. "Sometimes people take a little bit of a break, but it doesn't necessarily mean that's the end. I'm very hopeful."

Though at the time they were already separated, in his acceptance speech at the 2013 Emmy Awards in September, Douglas said, "I wanna thank my wife Catherine for her support." That night he took him his first Emmy.
