Since the death of Paul Walker on Nov. 30, fans have pondered how the franchise will possibly end its seventh installment.

Now it is being reported by The Hollywood Reporter that not only has it been decided how to end the upcoming film, but the franchise will go on with more movies after this one.

With one of its lead characters gone in real life, Fast & Furious 7 executives have decided to retire Brian O'Conner (Walker's character) instead of killing him off.

A statement released by THR reads: "Sources tell THR that Walker's character, Brian O'Conner, will not be killed off in the film, now set for release April 10, 2015. Instead, the plan is to "retire" the character in a way that the studio hopes will satisfy fans of the franchise and make use of the existing footage of Walker, who died about halfway through the Fast 7 shoot."

Director, James Wan, and writers, Chris Morgan and Jeffrey Kirschenbaum, will have to rewrite the original ending for the story to work, but they are focused on honoring the late actor while giving fans a great ending.

The director and writers were also reported to be "pouring over the footage Wan had shot." They will not delete the footage they shot with Walker, but instead use the extra footage to devise an ending.

With an 8-month delay provided until the release, Universal Studio has given Wan time to write and shoot new scenes that fit into the "O'Connor retiring" story.
