Boba Fett may be flying on the big screen in his very own jetpack fueled movie.

The bounty hunter, Boba Fett, was a crowd pleaser in the Star Wars movies when the first trilogy came out. Many fans believed he didn't receive enough screen time in the originals. Now, they just may get what they wish for.

In a Jan. 2 interview with AMC Movie Talk, Metalocalypse director, Jon Schnepp, confirmed that there would be a Boba Fett spin-off and that Empire Strikes Back writer, Lawrence Kasdan, will pen it. He did not mention his source, but he did say, "he knows for a fact," that the movie will be made.

Disney and J.J. Abrams are planning on having a Star Wars main trilogy. Star Wars episode 7, 8, and 9 are set to come out every other year with Episode 7 coming out in 2015. In the in between years, (2016,18,20) Disney is planning on releasing three spin-off movies, with each focused on a fan favorite character. AMC Movie Talk explains the schedule on their video podcast.

CinemaBlend stated that the other two characters who've been rumored to get a spin-off movie are Yoda and Han Solo.

Disney or LucasFilm has released no official world yet, but fans can be excited that a known director in Schnepp stated the rumor as fact.

Stay tuned for more details on the Boba Fett rumor, and whether or not an official word will be released in the coming days.
