Life is looking up for the characters of Hawaii Five-O as the series enters the second half of season 4.

When the tropical CBS drama returns from its midseason hiatus with "O kēlā me kēia Manawa" on Jan. 10, a core character will be returning to the island. The episode, whose title is Hawaiian for "Now and Then," will feature the homecoming of Five-O's Kono (Grace Park) - and she won't be alone.

After months on the run from the Yakuza, Adam Noshimuri (Ian Anthony Dale) and Kono no longer have a price on their heads and are finally free and clear to move on with their lives. Unfortunately, Kono has been unable to track down her boyfriend after he left her in attempt to preserve her safety. Following a vague paper trail, the young investigator headed to Canada at Thanksgiving and, according to a new preview (see video below), this is presumably where she will find Adam once more.

While the two lovebirds rekindle their romance, another partnership will not be working out quite as well. SWAT's Captain Grover (Chi McBride) will test his tumultuous partnership with Steve McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) as the pair work to locate Grover's friend who seems to have done a runner after allegedly committing murder.

Unsurprisingly, their quest will at some point lead to Grover slugging the Navy Seal in the face. Clearly he doesn't have the same level of patience for McGarrett's headstrong attitude as Danny (Scott Cann) does.

Hawaii Five-O airs Fridays at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.
