Kris Jenner might be all for her daughter, Kendall, getting cozy with One Direction star Harry Styles, but it wasn't always that way, Hollywood Life has reported.

An insider told the site, "Styles was a set up at first. Anyone that is about to date [Kendall and Kylie Jenner] must provide something more than just compatibility emotionally...They need to be famous and in the current limelight. They must be a big deal to get the sisters the media they thrive."

"To date one of the Jenner sisters you have to meet up with Kris Jenner, and she must give her 100% blessing. She wants major success for Kylie and Kendall because they are the future of the Kardashian paychecks."

Apparently, Styles passed the popularity test because he and Kendall seem to be still going strong. However, she might not have his best interest at heart.

The source continued by saying, "It's all about the Kardashian brand, and Kendall and Kylie have bought into it and use relationships as career builders more than anything else."

The insider even stated there was a huge disagreement between Kris and their father Bruce. He desired for them to live a "normal life" outside of the limelight, but because the girls look up to their big sister Kim Kardashian, it was a battle that the former Olympian lost.

"[Kylie and Kendall] want to be like Kim, and will do anything Kris says to make it happen. It's like they are robots."

Nonetheless, Styles has reportedly refused to be a part of the Kardashian family's reality show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
