Seattle based singer Mary Lambert performed a rendition of She Keeps Me Warm on The Tonight Show on Friday night.

The singer performed the song with her piano as well as a string quartet that included violins.

She Keeps Me Warm is similar to its well known predessor hit, Same Love, which featured Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. The lyrics are about same-sex rights. The song addresses stereotypes, religion and embracing individuals for who they truly are.

In both versions, Lambert sings "And I can't change even if I tried. Even if I wanted to."

However,  that version on The Tonight Show that Lambert performed was more symphonic while the one done by Macklemore and Lewis had a hip-hop vibe.

The video for Same Love features two men as a couple who go through phases of happiness as it gets closer to their large wedding. It also showed the future partners at an elderly age while one of them is lying in a hospital bed, holding his husband's hand.

Lambert won an MTV Video Music Award for Best Video With a Social Message in 2013, and was also nominated for Grammy Awards for Song of the Year and Album of the Year. Her other nominations include a Juno Award for Children's Album of the Year, World Music Award for World's Best Video and BET Hip Hop Award for Best Impact Track.
