The Avengers: Age of Ultron is gearing up for filming and Mark Ruffalo has joined Scarlett Johansson in dropping hints about what's next for the superhero team.

Ruffalo will be reprising his role of Bruce Banner/The Hulk for Marvel's Phase Two capstone film, and the actor recently echoed Johansson's sentiments regarding the dark nature Joss Whedon's latest script.

"It's a little bit darker, but also really has Joss Whedon's incredibly, witty and sly sense of humor," Ruffalo promised while speaking with MTV, adding that "[Bruce Banner] gets to do such great stuff."

Considering the Hulk doesn't currently have his own film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios president of production, Kevin Feige, promises that fans will get to see a lot of the scientist and his alter-ego.

"All of the effort related to Hulk right now is going to Age of Ultron. It's exciting, because he hasn't been in any other film, so you can expect to have a lot of Bruce Banner and Hulk in Age of Ultron," Feige said, according to the Reviewer. "Where we go after that? We'll see. It will be a little while before we figure that out but we do think there [are] plenty of opportunities with the Ruffalo Banner."

In line with Feige's statements, a film focused solely on the angry green hero could be close at hand. Former The Incredible Hulk actor Lou Ferrigno stated that a Bruce Banner-centric feature is on the shedual for Marvel Phase Three.

"They are doing a Hulk movie, I think after the next Avengers," Ferrigno told Flicks and the City in early December. "The reason is because the Hulk, in the last Avengers, he saved the day and was the star of the movie so Disney agreed a Hulk movie, so I think it will be done after the Avengers, the second one."

For now, however, Ruffalo is confirmed to be appearing in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, which will hit theaters May 1, 2015.
