Gabrielle Union is not worrying about what the haters have to say about her relationship with Dwyane Wade, in fact she too has made mistakes. 

Wade made headlines late last year after news broke that he conceived a son back in February, when he and Union were on a "break."

In an interview with PEOPLE magazine, she opened about the support she's received since announcing her engagement. 

"For everyone who's kind of given up, and is maybe a little older and it's the second time around, I think everyone kind of feels like it's their wedding and we're all in this together," she explained. 

Union was previouslty married to Chris Howard and revealed she can relate to her Being Mary Jane character's questionable relationship judgement, saying, "I'm divorced, so I've made a ton of bad decisions in relationships." 

As far as the couple's wedding plans, the Being Mary Jane star said Wade is doing all the legwork.

 "He's in charge. I'll just get a save the date and ... see what happens." 

Enstars reported earlier details of how the marriage proposal went down. 

"I was completely surprised. He and the boys planned it completely as a family. We were just going to spend the day having family time. Go to lunch. He said, do you want to do your hair or makeup? I was like, 'No.' We were going from there to Our house that is under construction and I was dressed for a construction site," she said earlier this month on ABC's Live With Kelly & Michael!
