To the excitement of the fans who are all caught up on Downton Abbey, the popular British-American drama will begin filming its fifth season, as actor Allen Leech (Tom Branson) recently dished on what lies ahead for both the TV series and his character.

"Serious Shakeup" & Another Major Death Set To Occur?

While Leech wouldn't get into the most minute of details on what's to come, he did inform Wet Paint on Jan. 29 that fans will undoubtedly like what they see in the first couple episodes.

"Very exciting stuff happens in episode 1 and continues into episode 2," he said.

Downton Abbey Season 5 To Be Final Installment?

However,to add to the anticipation, Leech also said that the program will once again be pulling on the audience's heart strings, as he "found out something" he wasn't aware of that'll take place during its opening installment and was "deeply saddened."

The fourth season of Downton Abbey featured Tom debating on whether he should take his family out of Downton and go to America. However, his newfound romance with the likes of Sarah Bunting (Daisy Lewis) may serve to keep him there. Leech stated that his hopes for his character are to "find peace within himself."

Although no air date has officially been set as of yet, Downton Abbey season 5 is slated to debut in the U.K. at some point during the fall. The fourth season is currently underway on the small screen in the U.S.
