It's easy to divide up possession when a couple splits, but it can be far more complicated to share old friends.

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are currently learning this lesson as the former costars try to determine who will hang out with their mutual pal, Ellie Goulding.

"Since their break-up, she still hangs out with both of them, but separately. Things are proving quite difficult at the minute," explained a source, according to Now Magazine as the 27-year-old singer prepares to take the stage for Coachella this April.

"Ellie wants both her friends to be there. It's one of the biggest events of the year for her, especially as she's starting to make a mark on the American market," the source confided to Now Magazine. "But she knows her mates can't even be in the same space as each other right now, so she's feeling caught in the middle."

Although Stewart, 23, and Pattinson, 27, met up in October, the formerly inseparable couple did not cross paths over the holidays as Pattinson hopped between New York City and London before heading to Morocco to start work on Queen of the Dessert.

The pair may not be holding hands at this year's Coachella, but perhaps a friendly conversation may be in order.
