It is being reported that Anne Hathaway is in talks to star with Robert De Niro in the Nancy Meyers workplace comedy, The Intern.

Hathaway will be replacing Reese Witherspoon, who reportedly passed on the project because of scheduling issues.

Initially, the Nancy Meyers film, which was originally being backed by Paramount, was being pitched with Michael Caine and Tina Fey in the lead roles, but because of budgeting issues the two stars couldn't be roped in. As Warner Bros. took the film under its umbrella it repackaged the project with Robert De Niro and Reese Witherspoon in mind.

Scott Rudin is producing the film.
