Nida and his wife, Phaedra Parks, are reportedly insisting that he is not guilty of bank fraud, identity theft, conspiracy and other charges. On Tuesday, Radar Online reported that Nida is apparently not ready to go to court, and filed a motion pleading with the judge to extend his hearing.

According to the documents, the extension "will allow the parties sufficient time to discuss a potential resolution of the case."

The documents also point out that the extension will also allow more time for an investigation.

"Mr. Nida requests a continuance so that he will have sufficient time to consult with his counsel, investigate all facts, and continue said discussions with the government," the documents read.

It was recently reported that Nida had allegedly sold a property that he owned just a few months before he turned himself in. His business empire supposedly stole identities from people for loan applications as well as other purposes, including opening fake bank accounts and funneling Treasury checks.

Nida's wife allegedly had some sort of connection with the incident although she has yet to be charged for anything.

There is currently no official word if Nida will get an extension for his hearing although the documents state that the preferred date would be until March 25, 2014.

The documents also state that "the ends of justice will be served by granting a 30-day continuance."
